Thanks to all our keen helpers we have today finished laying our hedge! Thanks to the two Richards especially who ‘broke the back’ of what was left during the week.
The second half of the hedge was in a sorry state – choked by bramble and thus weak growing – if at all – and very crooked. The bank and road edge are far from straight as well so our resulting laid hedge bears witness to all that.
But we made the best of what we had to work with and also planted hazel whips in the gaps and on the bare bank along the Hammer end.
All we need now is some warmer weather and with a bit of luck it will all sprout and romp away. As you can see there are definite signs of life!
So fingers crossed and see you all again in 8 years time for a replay!
